In the mea I had never heard of this book before it popped up on one of my lists put together from one of the Nancy Pearl Book Lust books, and likely would never have come across or read it, if I hadn’t.

I wish she would’ve written more. Famipy has really helped me to not judge people lightly and to respect and see others for who they are I loved the bookread it several years ago.

At last we can rest easy knowing that Lena has flourished into a proud, hopeful woman and has escaped the influence ansq her mother. As the story went on, the going ons from the beginning kind of died out. Her grandmother and Nurse Bloom are representatives of the old West African culture while her mother stands directly opposed. Thanks for telling us about the problem.

It was kind of creepy at times, with the protagonist seeing ghosts and spirits.

After graduating from college and working for several years in a variety of positions at the Atlanta ConstitutionAnsa wrote several novels and has been a frequent contributor to numerous periodicals, including the Los Angeles TimesNewsdayand the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

I was very happy. Just before she does though, a pair of small hands reach forward and grab her and begin to pull her into the picture effortlessly. Had the novel stayed true to the plot, I am sure it would have been a great read, but because it deviated and didn’t jump back on track fami,y the end, the entire rina was a let down.

Lena’s teenage years were no more than a couple of chapter’s, her young years in school was recognized only a few times in the novel and a lot of other stuff that should have been included, wasn’t. But the story read to quickly through everything.
