The arrogant self-entitlement of the peerage is ruthlessly portrayed by the Duchess. I wanted to her shine a bit more and only at the end of the book did she really stand on her two feet, something I wanted her to do sooner, but as a companion and her loyalty toward the dowager, it sorta made sense the way she acted.
I definitely not recommend this book. The Dowager Duchess seemed a pain in thd behind and, for a person like me who never considered myself capable of that much patience, I am in awe Grace Eversleigh has worked for the dowager Duchess of Wyndham for five years, a thankless job, until one night a highwayman s Jack Audley has been many things in his life, from a soldier and at the moment a highwayman. I love Julia, but this would be one of tne least favorites by her. Like so many reviewing this book, I love Julia Quinn.
The Lost Duke of Wyndham by Julia Quinn
Jack Audley was raised by his aunt and uncle after his parents were killed when their boat sank. And if his birth proves to be legitimate, then he will find himsel Jack Audley has been a highwayman. This will unseat and unsettle Thomas, the current Duke. Now for the positives, because let’s soften the blow -I liked how the both the males could annoy the duchess -How both h and H did not fight their feelings -The hero’s sense of humor -The epilogue But.
The story had some laugh-out loud scenes that I particularly enjoyed. Ratings and Reviews 3 49 star ratings 3 reviews. Only, Jack wants no part of being a Duke.

It would have saved the readers all of the annoying repetition and re-hashing and exact same conversations. Jan 24, Brenda b rated it really liked it Shelves: Since then, I have read most of her books and enjoyed every one of them.
I will be reading Thomas’ book soon, but just because I have this annoying obsession that won’t let me start a series without finishing it.
The hero and heroine fall in love at first sight, and while that can work well in romance, their qulnn is never believable. I know I’ll buy this one!
Jun 30, Diana rated it liked it Shelves: Jack is a teh hero, irreverent and charming. It is a thankless job, with very little break from the routine. Four Weddings and a Sixpence. And that scene is really the only love scene. Read more Read less. Quinn tries to tack on a backstory to give him depth, but I wasn’t convinced.
The Lost Duke of Wyndham
The language was perhaps too subtle for me on the first read. No, of course not. Would you like us to take another look at this review? A devastatingly charming and utterly handsome hero with a sense of humor Her characters are supposed to be English “people of quality” but speak unmistakably American English. That is the plot and there is very little else to say because I don’t want to spoil the ending even though it isn’t exactly unique. It is a thankless job, with very little break from the routine View all 3 comments.
One of my faves by Julia Quinn. He really wants to do right, and he certainly never really tries to seduce Grace. I found both the hero and heroine to be very sympathetic characters, and I enjoyed the way they both recognized something special in one another right away. No reason for Thomas to do it, no reason for Grace to like it, no reason for it to really ever happen at all!
Once again, the characters were great, the story was perfect my opinionthe writing was pure JQ. A Gentleman Never Tells. I can’t quite put my finger on what this book didn’t have, but it just wasn’t great. But what was worst, is the fact that the topic was so surreal that I just wanted to burn the book up, I mean, a highwayman who magically becomes a duke, seriously? The title should be at least 4 characters long. Quinn has won herself a die hard fan. Normally, this would not be a problem, but in here it was because the dialogs were a bit annoying and not entertaining at all Learn more about Amazon Prime.
Grace, the heroine, wyndhsm a capable, intelligent, Geez, well, unlike other grudging, grumbly readers, I loved this. Grace Eversleigh has been a companion to the duchess, ever since the lady rescued her from a dire fate after her parent’s sudden tue years ago. She’d been deal a pretty lousy lot but was making the best of it.
